Richmond, VA – Performance Pickleball RVA is excited to announce the addition of Christina Shifflett to the PPBRVA Team in the role of Director of Community Relations. In that role, Shifflett will oversee member relations and the hospitality staff. Additionally, she will serve as one of PPBRVA’s top instructors and represent the Performance Team in a professional capacity, sponsored by PPBRVA as she pursues her competitive goals.

“Christina is what we refer to as a no-brainer hire,” said PPBRVA COO Jon Laaser. “She is one of the premier players in the region, is a better person, has a tremendous amount of experience managing a racquet sport community and is precisely what we strive for the PPBRVA brand to be.”

Shifflett, born and raised in Richmond, boasts 15 years of tennis and country club experience, working previously in membership and coordinator roles. A 5.0 professional tennis player prior to making the switch to pickleball three years ago, she is now a 5.0 professional pickleball player. In Shifflett’s free time she enjoys pushing the bar on her fitness journey as a power-lifter. She also dabbles as an artist.

“I am beyond excited to join the Performance Team,” said Shifflett. “And I am looking forward to welcoming familiar faces and meeting new ones in a place that brings us together around a sport we all love.”

With the addition of Shifflett, Thaian Nguyen (Director of Pickleball) and Renée Laaser (Director of Special Events), PPBRVA now features the entire team that has executed the highest level tournaments in the area. The model for those events will be enhanced and heightened as the team joins PPBRVA.
